Ngannou called the judge’s decision on the results of the fight with Fury a disgrace for boxing
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou spoke critically about his defeat in a boxing match with Briton Tyson Fury. His words are quoted by Boxing Scene.
Ngannou called the judge’s decision at the end of the fight a disgrace for boxing. “The judges must be punished. I would like to understand why they make such verdicts,” he said and added that such decisions ruin athletes’ careers.
On October 28, Fury defeated Ngannou in a heavyweight boxing bout in Saudi Arabia. The fight lasted all ten rounds, following which the judges gave Fury victory by split decision.
Ngannou has 17 wins and three losses in mixed martial arts throughout his career. He held the UFC heavyweight championship belt.
Fury has 34 wins, one draw and no losses. He holds the World Boxing Council heavyweight championship belt.
