The fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland could take place in mid-2024
The team of mixed style fighter (MMA) Khamzat Chimaev, representing the United Arab Emirates (UAE), revealed the timing of the next fight. TASS reports this.
According to the athlete’s representative, the fight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) title with American Sean Strickland could take place in 2024. “The fight could take place in the middle of next year,” the agency’s source said.
On October 21, Chimaev defeated American Kamaru Usman. The fight ended in three rounds with the victory of the fighter of Chechen origin by majority decision of the judges. In total, Chimaev spent 13 fights in his professional career without suffering a single defeat.
Strickland has 28 wins and five losses. On September 10, the American won a unanimous decision over New Zealander Israel Adesanya and won the UFC middleweight title.
