Swedish skier Lynn Swan said she will not compete with the Russians
The winner of the World Cup stages, owner of the Small Crystal Globe in sprint racing, Lynn Swan, said that she will not compete with the Russians. Her words are quoted by Expressen.
“I don’t think we should open up to the Russians. “I say the same thing as last year: I don’t want to start against Russian skiers,” said the Swedish champion skier. At the same time, she emphasized that she was sorry for the suffering of the athletes.
In March, the International Ski Federation (FIS) banned Russians from participating in tournaments under the auspices of the organization. In September, the FIS again denied Russian athletes access to international tournaments for the 2022/2023 season.
The FIS Council meeting will take place later on October 25th. It may consider the issue of participation of Russian skiers in international competitions.
