Russian Pavlovich will fight for the title of interim UFC champion with Aspinall
Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Sergei Pavlovich will fight with Briton Tom Aspinall for the interim title of champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the heavy weight category. About this in Twitter said the President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dana White.
White said that the fight became possible because the current champion of the organization in this weight, American Jon Jones, was injured and would not be able to fight with compatriot Stipe Miocic. Pavlovich’s fight with Aspinall will take place at UFC 295 in New York on the night of November 11-12.
On April 23, Pavlovich won his sixth victory in a row in the UFC, being stronger than the American Curtis Blaydes. The fight ended with a technical knockout in the first round. In total, 30-year-old Pavlovich fought 18 fights during his career, 17 of which ended in his favor.
36-year-old Jones currently leads the UFC heavyweight rankings along with Frenchman Cyril Gan. In his professional career, he won 27 victories and suffered one defeat. Another fight with his participation was declared invalid. Pavlovich is in second place in the ranking.
