Referees from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Belarus will appear in the RPL
Referees from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Belarus will be involved in work at matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL). Chairman of the refereeing committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Pavel Kamantsev told Match TV about this.
He noted that an agreement has already been signed with the Saudis. Legal issues with the remaining two countries will be resolved in the near future. According to Kamantsev, a referee from Saudi Arabia may appear in the RPL before the end of the year.
“You saw our matches with Qatar and the Saudi Arabian team. Football is developing in these countries. This means that refereeing is also developing. Let’s hope that they will bring us qualities and enrich our interaction,” Kamantsev noted.
The current champion of Russia is Zenit. This season, after 12 rounds, Krasnodar is in the lead.
