Fakel suspended football player Kalinin for refusing to come on as a substitute in an RPL match
Sports director of Fakel Voronezh Kirill Kotov said that the club suspended defender Igor Kalinin for refusing to come on as a substitute in the 12th round match of the Russian Premier League (RPL) against Orenburg. His words are quoted by “Championship”.
“Is there any understanding why he refused to come on as a substitute? “I cannot be responsible for another person,” Kotov emphasized. Fakel’s statement says that Kotov will not be able to train with the first team, and further decisions regarding the player will be made by the coaching staff and the club’s management.
“Fakel” won away against “Orenburg” in the match of the 12th round of the RPL. The meeting took place on October 21 and ended with a score of 2:1. In the 35th minute, Ilnur Alshin put the visitors ahead. The hosts bounced back thanks to Dmitry Vorobyov’s goal in the 76th minute, but in added time the Voronezh team snatched victory, Nikita Motspan scoring.
Fakel scored 12 points and is in 12th place in the standings. Orenburg is in 13th place with 11 points.
