The judge charges Laporta for the Negreira case

The judge in the Negreira case has agreed to charge the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laportaconcluding that the payments to the former vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) made between 2008 and 2010, during his previous mandate, have not expired because they constitute a continued bribery crime.

In an order, the head of the investigating court number 1 of Barcelona, Joaquín Aguirre, agrees to extend the status of those under investigation to Laporta and the members of his board of directors with responsibility for payments, thereby joining the other two former presidents of the accused club, Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu.

The magistrate thus disagrees with the criteria of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, which excluded Laporta from the complaint he filed for the 7.3 million euros that Barça paid to José María Enríquez Negreira and his son between the years 2001 and 2018, understanding that His participation in the events during his first presidency, between 2003 and 2010, would have already expired.
