Doctor Vidyaskin advised to inhale when raising the barbell and exhale when lowering it
Doctor Igor Vidyaskin spoke about the correct breathing technique during strength training. His words are quoted by Life.ru.
“Inhalation is done at the moment of muscle relaxation, and exhalation is done at the moment of their tension, when the greatest effort is applied,” Vidyaskin said. He analyzed this scheme using the example of exercises with a barbell: exhalation occurs at the moment of lifting, and inhalation occurs when lowering.
Vidyaskin noted the harm of holding your breath, explaining that in this case oxygen starvation may occur. “During cardio exercises, breathe rhythmically and in sync with your body movements. For example, when running, you can take one breath for every two to three steps, and exhale for the next two to three steps,” the specialist noted.
On September 24, fitness trainer Andrei Prokofiev named three simple morning exercises to awaken the body. The expert advised rising on your toes and jumping, landing on your heels, then doing a vacuum and finally moving your legs to the side and back.
