Kostya Tszyu said he was pleased with his son Tim’s fight against American Brian Mendoza

Former absolute world champion Kostya Tszyu appreciated the victory of his eldest son Tim in the fight with American Brian Mendoza. His words are quoted by Sport Express.

“I’m happy with the fight. It was a fight against a good opponent who had never been on the floor. So it was a hard and good fight. “The emotions are only positive,” said Tszyu Sr.

Earlier on October 15, Tim Tszyu, who plays for Australia, defeated Mendoza by unanimous decision. The fight took place in Broadbeach, Australia and lasted all 12 rounds. Thus, the Australian defended his championship belt for the first time, and also won the title of interim champion according to the World Boxing Council (WBC), which was held by an American.

28-year-old Tim Tszyu has 24 victories in a row, 17 of which were won by knockout. In his professional career, he did not suffer a single defeat. Mendoza has 22 wins and 3 losses.
