Russian Ovechkin took part in a mass brawl in a preseason NHL match
The Washington Capitals lost to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a preseason game in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
The meeting ended in victory for the guests with a score of 4:2. Washington’s Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin scored a goal.
At the end of the second period, a massive brawl broke out on the court after a violent collision between Washington player TJ Oshie and Columbus forward Adam Fantilli. The captain of the capital team, Ovechkin, also took part in it, trying to protect his teammate. As a result, the Russian received a two-minute penalty.
Earlier, Russian forward for Columbus Dmitry Voronkov provoked a mass brawl in a preseason match against the Buffalo Sabers. After the whistle at the end of the second period, the forward touched the opposing goalkeeper, after which he fell and a brawl began.
The new NHL season starts on the night of October 11. The current Stanley Cup champion is the Vegas Golden Knights.
