Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Usman Nurmagomedov defended his Bellator lightweight title. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
In the main event of the Bellator 300 tournament, which took place in San Diego, the domestic fighter defeated the American Brent Primus. The fight ended with a unanimous decision of the judges after five rounds. Thanks to the victory, Nurmagomedov advanced to the Grand Prix final.
The cousin of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov became the promotion’s lightweight champion in November 2022, defeating Brazilian Patrick Freire at Bellator 288 via unanimous decision.
In total, the 25-year-old Russian won 18 victories in his professional career without suffering a single defeat. The 38-year-old Primus has 12 wins and four losses.
