‘Hiru Haundiak’ returns on October 14 with a thousand participants

The 23rd edition of the emblematic race ‘Hiru Haundiak’a pioneer among mountain ultratrail tests throughout the state, will take place October 14 and about 1,000 people are expected to participate. The test will start at 00:00 in Murgia and will crown the peaks of Gorbea, Anboto and Aizkorrias the organization explained in the presentation this Thursday.
On a 101 kilometer route, the runners will face the ascent of Gorbea, to then pass through Ubide, Otxandio and Urkiola, to then ascend Anboto. Next, they will pass through Landa and Usabakotzena. After climbing Aizkorri, the first arrival is expected to be around 10:46 a.m. in Araia.
“It is a very special edition and the natural setting that welcomes us makes it very big. As those who participate often say, it is “the Hiru Haundiak dream,” highlighted the president of the promoting and organizing entity, Fernando Casi.
For its part, Gorka IturriagaDirector of Physical Activity and Sports of the Basque Government, wanted to thank the organization for “doing it with soul. It is a model for our Department. It brings together many of the ingredients to make a cutting-edge test.”
