The head of the RFU referees Mazhich was appointed inspector of the Shakhtar match in the Champions League
The head of the referees of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Serbian Milorad Mazic, was appointed to the Shakhtar match in the second round of the group stage of the Champions League. This was reported on the website of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
Mazic will work as an inspector for the match against the Belgian Antwerp. The match will be officiated by a Slovenian team of referees led by Rade Obrenovic.
The match between Antwerp and Shakhtar will take place on October 4 and will start at 19:45 Moscow time. In the first round, the Ukrainians lost to Porto, and the Belgians to Barcelona. Thus, Shakhtar and Antwerp are in third and fourth places in the Group H standings, respectively.
Mazhich was appointed head of the RFU refereeing department at the end of June 2023. His contract is valid for two years with the possibility of extending for another year.
