Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov showed on video how he swims with prostheses
Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov published a new video from a training session on Telegram.
The figure skater, who has prosthetic legs installed, showed how he swims in the pool. Kostomarov said that he can swim like a “dolphin.” “We walk, we run, and now we swim. Just forward,” he captioned the video.
Earlier, Kostomarov said that he had set himself the goal of returning to the ice. “How will it work out? Don’t know. But I know for sure that I will come out,” said the Olympic champion.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to prolonged connection to a blood oxygenation machine and a ventilator, his tissue began to die. Doctors amputated both feet of the skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire hand of his right hand and several fingers of his left.
