Fernandez answered a question about his grudge against CSKA

Mario Fernandez said that he would never say a single bad word about CSKA

Brazilian defender Mario Fernandez, who moved from CSKA to Zenit in the summer of 2022, spoke about his attitude towards his previous club. His words are quoted by Sport24.

“I repeat: no one will ever hear a single bad word from me about CSKA,” the footballer said in response to the question of whether he still had a grudge against the army team. At the same time, according to the athlete, the attacks from the red-blue fans after the transition showed him for the first time that the world is cruel and unfair.

Fernandez emphasized that he wanted to re-join CSKA after playing for the Brazilian Internacional. “I only wanted to return to CSKA. But they didn’t want to bring me back. If CSKA wanted, and I chose Zenit, I would understand those who say nasty things about me. It would be my mistake,” he added.

Fernandez moved to Zenit on July 17. The agreement is for one year with the possibility of extension for a season.

From 2012 to 2022, Fernandez played for CSKA Moscow, after which he took a break from his career. After the blue-white-blue team announced the transfer of the Brazilian, army fans created a petition demanding that the graffiti depicting the Brazilian be removed from the tribune area.

Since 2017, Fernandez has been involved in matches for the Russian national team. Together with the team, he reached the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup.
