Napoli wins Leicester and ranks second in the Europa League

This Thursday, Napoli and Leicester City faced each other in the last round of the Europa League group stage. In Italy, Luciano Spalletti’s team won 3-2, with two goals from Elif Elmas and one from Adam Ounas. Jonny Evans and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall took notes for Brendan Rodgers’ lead.

With the result, the Italians are classified in second place in the group, with 10 points. The English are in third, with eight, and will compete in the Conference League.

Napoli returns to the field next Sunday, against Empoli, at 14:00 (GMT). Leicester City, on the other hand, play against Newcastle, on the same day, at 11 am (GMT).

The game – In the first half, after just four minutes, the hosts opened the scoring. Adam Ounas took advantage of the leftovers inside the area and hit the corner to stuff the nets.

At 24, Napoli expanded. Andrea Petagna received a deep pass, faced the goal and played for Elif Elmas to just push into the net.

However, three minutes later, the English managed to react and reduced the score. Jonny Evans got a rebound inside the area and sent a great shot to the back of goal.

And the tie came at 33. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall took the first shot from the edge of the area and the ball went into the lower right corner.

In the second stage, Napoli was back in front of the scoreboard. Giovanni Di Lorenzo crossed into the area, Elif Elmas dominated, took the mark and sent it to the back of the net.

Spartak Moscow wins and ranks first

In the other game of the group, Spartak Moscow beat Legia Warsaw 1-0, with a goal by Zelimkhan Bakaev. Thus, the Russians took the first place, with 10 points. The Poles finished last, with six.
