The Ukrainian national team withdrew from the 2024 Beach Soccer World Cup due to the participation of Belarus
The Ukrainian national team has withdrawn from the 2024 World Beach Soccer Championship in the United Arab Emirates. This was reported on the website of the Beach Soccer Association of Ukraine (UPFU).
It is noted that the organization made this decision because of the admission to the tournament of a team from Belarus, which will play with national symbols. APFU and the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) appealed to the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the World Beach Soccer Organization with a request to exclude Belarus from participation in the World Cup.
Earlier on September 27, the UAF announced that the national youth team would refuse to participate in competitions to which the Union of European Football Associations would allow teams from Russia. The organization also called on other countries to boycott these tournaments.
On September 26, the UEFA executive committee proposed returning the Russian national teams among players under 17 years of age to international tournaments.
The World Cup will be held in the UAE from February 15 to 25, 2024 in the UAE. The Russian beach soccer team will miss the competition.
