Ex-Bayern and Juventus, defender Benatia announces his retirement at 34 years old

Defender Medhi Benatia announced his retirement on Thursday. The 34-year-old, who was at Fatih Karagumruk-TUR, defended European giants such as Bayern Munchen e Juventus.

The Moroccan was revealed by Marseille Olympics, but remained on the team for a short time. After playing at Clermont Foot, he signed with Udinese, a club for which he stood out.

In 2013, Benatia was purchased by Roma and, the following year, after playing 37 matches, he ended up sold to Bayern Munich, for 28 million euros (BRL 176.6 million).

After a stay in Germany, where he played 46 matches, he moved to Juventus in 2016, initially on loan. Later, it was acquired outright. In total, he wore the Italian team shirt on 59 occasions.

Finally, Medhi Benatia made a deal with Al Duhail, from Qatar, the team on which he played Dudu, from palm trees. In September of this year, he went to Fatih Karagumruk and hung up his boots. For the Moroccan team, the defender played 58 games, scored two goals and played in the 2018 World Cup.
