Brothers Iker and Eneko Pou opt for the fifth time Golden ice ax, the award for excellence in mountain activities. They do so among a total of 53 nominees, including Tasio Martín from Bizkaia and Aritza Monasterio from Gipuzkoa, both of whom open paths in Peru and India.

The nomination of the Pou brothers comes as a consequence of the opening of the ONE PUSH route in the Andes. To do this, the Pou carried out, together with Micher Quito, an alpine-style, non-stop ascent in 12 uninterrupted hours, and with a complicated descent that extended the adventure to 26 hours.

This nomination is a new recognition to the already long career of the people from Alava, who wanted to thank the jury for being included among the candidates for the award.
