Shape experts say walking with weights is good for weight loss
Experts from Shape magazine spoke about the benefits of cancer for weight loss. Recommendations are provided on the publication’s website.
According to experts, racking—hiking long distances with weights, such as a backpack or vest—stabilizes the body, strengthens the legs and gluteal muscles, and pumps up the cardiovascular system. It is noted that a weighted vest increases the load without changing a person’s gait, thereby reducing the risk of leg injuries.
Experts added that rucking helps pump up the muscles of the whole body, but the greatest load falls on the lower part of the body: hips, knee joints, gluteal muscles, hamstrings, quadriceps, calves and ankles. In addition, thanks to the weighting material, the shoulders, trapezius and core muscles receive a healthy load, which are actively involved in order to balance the weight.
Previously, Doctor of Biological Sciences, leading researcher at the Federal Scientific Center for Physical Culture and Sports, Andrei Voronkov, appreciated the benefits of exercise slippers for weight loss. He stated that this tool will not help you lose weight. “With such a small involvement of muscle groups, this is a big question mark,” Voronkov noted.
