Real Sociedad beat Getafe 4-3 the match corresponding to the 6th day of LaLiga EA Sports which was played this September 24 in the Reale Arena.
In this way, the txuri-urdin team took the three points and ended their small bad streak after the defeat they suffered against Real Madrid (2-1) in the League a week ago and the draw with Inter Milan in the Liga Champions.
The game couldn’t have started better for the locals. It didn’t take long for Real Sociedad to damage the defensive line of the team led by José Bordalás. Clean recovery by Brais Méndez in three quarters of the field who threw a pipe at Omar Alderete and thus was able to advance towards the rival goal and provide a luxury assist for a Take Kubo beat goalkeeper Soria with a cross shot (1-0).
Later, Real took possession of the ball, but had a hard time generating clear scoring chances. Thus, the txuri-urdin team left Getafe alive. The Madrid team warned with a shot from Maksimovic and, on the next opportunity, tied the match: Aleñá put the score at 1-1 after beating goalkeeper Remiro with a shot from Diego Rico’s center.
Furthermore, before the break, the visitors took the lead on the scoreboard thanks to a penalty that Borja Mayoral converted (1-2). The referee indicated a maximum penalty in favor of Getafe for a foul by Le Normand on Mayoral himself.
The passage through the locker room did not change the outcome of the match much, which is why Imanol Alguacil chose to stir things up, bringing out three leading swords such as Martin Zubimendi, Mikel Merino and Mikel Oyarzabal to dance. And boy did he serve him well, since in the 60th minute Brais was brought down in the area by Mitrovic. Penalty which gave no room for doubt, and that the captain Mikel Oyarzabal scored to tie the match (2-2).
After achieving the equalizer, Real Sociedad went on the attack and in the 66th minute managed to take the lead on the scoreboard: Brais made it 3-2 after taking advantage of a defensive error by the rival and putting the ball into the opponent’s goal with a header.
With the third realistic goal the game went crazy and, in that madness, the locals emerged victorious. In the 89th minute, Mikel Merino scored 4-2 after pushing the ball into the net, after a good play by the team and receiving the pass from Oyarzabal.
It seemed that the match was resolved with Merino’s goal, but nothing could be further from the truth, since Getafe closed the gap through Latase (4-3).
However, Real Sociedad knew how to chloroform the final stretch and the Txuri-Urdin team claimed the victory (4-3).
