Bayern Munich announced on Thursday that it will not have Joshua Kimmich until the end of the year. After choosing not to take the covid-19 vaccine, the player tested positive for the virus and will now have to treat lung problems caused by the disease.
“I’m glad that my covid-19 quarantine is over. I’m doing great but due to a small infiltration in my lungs I can’t train fully. So I’m going to do advanced training and can’t wait to be fully back in January”, said the athlete, to the club’s official website.
Kimmich has not taken the field since November, when he came into contact with a person suspected of covid-19. Soon after, he performed the test and the result was positive, having to comply with quarantine.
Now, the midfielder is absent from the duel this Saturday, against Mainz, for the German Championship. Joshua still does not take the field next Tuesday, against Stuttgart, nor against Wolfsburg, on the 17th.
