Champions top scorer, Haller scored more goals than 18 teams in the group stage

Sébastien Haller, from Ajax, surpassed the main strikers in world football and was the top scorer in the first phase of the Champions League. The Ivorian has scored ten goals in six group stage games.

The 27-year-old was in front of forwards like Lewandowski (9), Salah (7) and Cristiano Ronaldo (6). Haller even scored more goals than 18 teams in the first round of the Champions League.

The Franco-Ivorian rocked the net more times, for example, than Inter Milan (8), Atlético Madrid (7) and Barcelona (2).

In addition, Haller became the second player in tournament history to score in all six group stage games – the first being Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2017/18 season.

The Ajax athlete also showed good effectiveness. In 19 submissions, Haller hit the opponent’s goal 14 times and beat the opposing goalkeeper in ten.

The Dutch club themselves also had a good first phase. Ajax ranked first in group C, with 100% success. Now, Erik ten Hag’s men await the definition of their opponent in the next phase. The draw for the round of 16 takes place this Monday.
