Nascimento posted a joint photo with Pele, in which they both smile. The picture was taken in a hospital ward. “My father went through a procedure that was planned a few months ago. In two or three days he will return home to celebrate Christmas, ”the girl wrote.
The fact that Pele was again hospitalized was reported on 8 December. He is undergoing colon tumor treatment at the Albert Einstein Clinic in São Paulo.
In September, the ex-athlete underwent an operation to remove the tumor. Soon it became known that the Brazilian’s condition deteriorated sharply and he was transferred to intensive care. In October, he was discharged from the hospital and started chemotherapy.
Pele is a three-time world champion in football. In 1999, the International Olympic Committee recognized the Brazilian as the athlete of the century.
