Ilse Pluimers wins the gold medal in the under-23 road cycling event at the European Championships

The Dutch Ilse Pluimers was proclaimed European under-23 road cycling champion this Friday, September 22, after being the best on the route starting in Hoogeveen and ending in Col du VAM (Netherlands).
Zoe Backsted (Great Britain) tried to put the peloton in check with a getaway that It was neutralized with 10 kilometers to go before the finish line.. Thus, the main group reached the last slope with 30 units and in those meters the victory was decided. Pluimers won with a margin of one second over Anna Shacley (Great Britain) and Linda Zanetti (Switzerland)second and third respectively.
The Basque runners had a great test. Eneritz Vaillo was 20th, 28 seconds behind the winner and Idoia Eraso 30th to 38th.
