Rodnina said that next time Gumennik will select music more carefully
Three-time Olympic figure skating champion and State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina gave advice to Russian figure skater Pyotr Gumennik after the ban on the use of a Rammstein song. Her words are quoted by Sport24.
Rodnina said that next time the athlete will choose the music more carefully. “You have to think about what you bet on your program. If you didn’t think about it, you change the program urgently,” she commented. According to the deputy, before the main competition, Gumennik can easily change the program.
On September 17, Gumennik said that he was forced to refuse to use the Rammstein song in the musical accompaniment to the short program. The reason was a letter to the Russian Ministry of Sports and the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR).
21-year-old Gumennik won the silver medal at the Russian Championship last season. He also won the national Grand Prix final.
