Anthony Landázuri and Michael Hoyos scored as Independiente del Valle beat Libertad FC to end a three-match winless streak in the second phase of the Pro League.
A corner kick, taken from the left, was used by defender Landázuri and headed past goalkeeper José Angulo in the 7th minute of the match at the Banco Guayaquil Stadium, in Amagüaña, Quito.
The Loja team tried on the wings and in the center of the field to string up plays to equalize, but Landázuri appeared again, who made it possible for the Argentine-Ecuadorian Hoyos, who sealed the victory of the striped team for the sixth match with his right hand.
The Black and Blues, winners of the first stage and qualified for the 2023 Copa Libertadores, added 7 points to take eighth place at this stage of the national tournament.
And Libertad remained in 15th place, with 4 units. This bad action of the team from the south of the country keeps them at the bottom of the overall standings, with 17.
On Saturday, September 23, starting at 18:00, Independiente will visit the Bellavista de Ambato field to face Técnico Universitario; and Sunday the 25th (19:00) Libertad will host El Nacional at the Reina del Cisne Stadium. (D)
