Euskaraz irakurri: Demi Vollering, 2023ko Romandiako Tourreko garailea
The Dutch cyclist Demi Vollering (Team SD Worx) was proclaimed this Sunday winner of the 2023 Tour de Romandie. The champion had already secured the lead in the second stage, so the last mountainous stage did not pose any challenge for her. In this last stage of 132 kilometers between Vernier and Nyon, the German has won Liane Lippert (Movistar).
The podium of the Swiss round was completed by the Polish Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon) and Switzerland Marlen Reusser (SD Worx). For her part, the Basque cyclist Ane Santesteban finished in 14th position.
At the beginning of the race, a small group of six runners made up of Adegeest, Bredewold, Faulkner, Neff, Fisher-Black and Benito managed to get away, but were caught by the peloton halfway through the stage.
At the finish line, Ricarda Bauernfeind tried to attack from afar to win the stage, but she did not succeed. Fem van Empel was also close to winning the final sprint, but it was Lippert who overcame him in the last 50 meters.
