There will be no war on the territory of Belarus. In modern conditions, this is impossible, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said at the patriotic forum “We are Belarusians!” dedicated to National Unity Day, BELTA reports.
“There will be no war in modern conditions on the territory of Belarus, this is impossible. Because this is impossible,” the Belarusian leader noted. “But, if God forbid, something happens, we will all become the Brest Fortress,” Lukashenko added. According to him, Belarusians will “until the last soldier and Belarusian man” defend the land that belongs to their children.
Lukashenko assured that he does not see any prerequisites for the outbreak of hostilities in Belarus, and is confident that they will not arise. “I want to assure you: we do not want to fight, and we will not fight,” Lukashenko emphasized.
Speaking at a gala event dedicated to National Unity Day, Lukashenko also noted that Belarus does not threaten neighboring states with nuclear weapons or units of the Wagner PMC. “We are not brandishing atomic weapons, nor any units – Wagner and so on – and we are not threatening anyone,” he said.
Earlier, Poland and the Baltic countries threatened Minsk that in the event of serious incidents they would close the border with Belarus and all border crossings.
