In general there have been no changes. Sepp Kuss remains the leader with 17 seconds ahead of his teammate Jonas Vingegaard and 1:08 with respect to Primoz Roglic.

The stage was launched from La Bañeza, where the 149 pilgrims of the Vuelta came out to face the penultimate option for the sprint in this edition.

Alpecin and UAE were in charge of chasing to facilitate the sprint for Kaden Groves and the Colombian Sebastián Molano.

Alpecin neutralized the rebel quartet near Mojados, 19.3 kilometers from the finish line, where the intermediate sprint that distributed points was. Groves did not win the battle, but he was second, collecting 17 points and rehearsing the arrival to Íscar.
