Akinfeev spoke about plans for the future after retirement

Akinfeev said that after finishing his career he wants to travel around Russia

CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev spoke about plans for the future after retiring. His words are quoted by the club’s YouTube channel.

The footballer noted that after retiring from sports, he first of all wants to relax for a few months with his family and go on a trip to the Golden Ring of Russia, Altai, the Far East and Armenia. “Later, when your head is clear, when new thoughts appear, you will see whether it will be CSKA, what it will be and how. Nothing will depend on me there anymore – I don’t choose who I want to be,” added Akinfeev.

The athlete also answered the question about the possible timing of retirement. “When I understand one hundred percent that I’m not ready, I’ll say with both hands that I’m good. Contract until summer? Well, we’ll play until the summer, and then we’ll see. I won’t go to Saudi Arabia!” – said the football player.

37-year-old Akinfeev is a bronze medalist at the 2008 European Championship as part of the Russian national team. Together with CSKA, he won the Russian Championship six times, the national Cup and Super Cup seven times. In addition, as part of the army team, Akinfeev won the UEFA Cup.
