Russian national team player Barinov announced the need for friendly matches
Midfielder of Lokomotiv and the Russian national team Dmitry Barinov appreciated the need to hold friendly matches. His words are quoted by “Championship”.
The footballer shared that he misses official games. “We still have to get together, no matter what. There is no point in calling everyone together when there are no rivals, but when there are, it is mandatory. The national team must show those who banned us that we are alive,” he said.
The national team played two friendly matches against the Egyptian Olympic team in Suez in September. The first meeting ended in a draw with a score of 1:1, the second – in a victory for the hosts (2:1). On September 12, the Russians will play away against the Qataris.
The Russian national team has not competed in international tournaments since February 2022 due to sanctions from the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations.
