Journalists from The Times of India newspaper confused Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev and Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev. The message appeared in Twitter publications
The media published a post about the final of the US Open tennis tournament, in which Medvedev and Serbian Novak Djokovic played. The note mistakenly indicated Dmitry Medvedev’s account. “Alas, I did not play against Novak Djokovic,” the politician replied.
The meeting between Medvedev and Djokovic ended with a score of 6:3, 7:6 (7:5), 6:3 in favor of the Serbian. The tennis players spent 3 hours and 17 minutes on the court.
Medvedev retained third place in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings. Thanks to the victory, Djokovic again became the first racket of the world.
Medvedev won the US Open in 2021. Then he defeated Djokovic.
