Marek Sikora made his debut as a 15-year-old, two years later as Ariel in the series “Majki Skowron’s Madness” he won the hearts of fans who sent him love letters en masse. Gra¿yna Wolszczak, who eventually became his wife, resisted his charm for a long time. The family idyll was interrupted by tragedy.

Marek Sikora started his career when he was only 15 years old. In 1974, he read in “Świat Młodych” about the search for actors for a film. Sikora was one of several thousand teenagers who showed up at the casting for the adaptation of Janusz Domagalik’s novel, “The End of the Holidays”. He defeated everyone, but director Stanisław Jędryka quickly began to have doubts. – Looking at him, I thought to myself: “Oh my God, this is a terrible choice! He’s the wrong boy!” – he recalled in the interview. However, he was afraid of changing his decision, all because of the warm thanks from Sikora’s mother. – His mother almost kissed my hands when she greeted me because I chose him for this role – he said. But already while shooting the first scene, Jędryka realized that the choice was right.

Two years later, Jędryka cast Marek Sikora again in his production. The 17-year-old actor received the role of Ariel in the series “Majka Skowron’s Madness”. Thanks to it, it gained popularity and great sympathy among fans, and the production can still be watched on TVP VOD. Fans were able to send love letters in huge numbers. However, for Sikora himself, acting and popularity were not the peak of his dreams, because initially he wanted to become a dancer and choreographer. He graduated from ballet school, but at the urging of his family, he decided to study at an acting school. In 1982, he graduated from the Łódź Film School, and in 1991, he graduated in directing from the Warsaw Film School. Previously, he collaborated with various theaters in Poland as a choreographer and actor. In 1984 in Poznań he met .

At first, both of them did not draw attention to each other. It wasn’t love at first sight. Wolszczak herself recalled that Sikora seemed to her “too pretty” and she “too ugly”. But a friendship was born between them, and the actress’s feelings changed… the first wrinkles on her friend’s face. – He was still too pretty for my taste. Only after some time did I look at him differently. I liked how he got a few more wrinkles. Two years later we got married – Wolszczak in an interview with “Nalive”. They got married in 1986, and in 1989 their son, Filip, was born.

The family idyll was interrupted by tragedy. Marek Sikora died suddenly, he was 36 years old

In the 1990s, Marek Sikora worked as a director. He directed, among others: performances for the Television Theater, he was also associated with the Powszechny Theater in Łódź. – It was a time of our happiness and harmony – Wolszczak in “Życie na hot”. – More than once I saw jealous women’s eyes staring at me. However, I never had the slightest fear that Marek might betray me. And I would still forgive him for betraying me. Life spoiled us, she said. Suddenly, Sikora lost his job on television. – He was investigating, thinking, asking, wondering. Why?! This powerful blow finished him off nervously – Wolszczak. Financial problems arose.

In July 1996, Marek Sikora went to Busko-Zdrój to visit his parents. On July 22, he unexpectedly suffered a stroke. He died at the age of 36, one month before his 37th birthday. – After Marek’s death, I realized that if I plunge into despair, it will be difficult to return to normality. I focused all my energy on creating a normal life for my son, so that he would feel the loss as little as possible – Wolszczak in the weekly “Świat ipeople”.
