Canadian Hamilton said that he feels like a kindergartener because of the Russian language
Canadian Traktor hockey player Robert Hamilton named the hardest aspect of life in Russia. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
The 29-year-old athlete shared that it took the longest to get used to the Russian language and he still has a small language barrier. “But I try to teach him, talk to the guys in the locker room more often. The funniest thing happens when one of the Russian guys watches me trying to order something in Russian. At such moments I feel like a boy from kindergarten,” he said.
Hamilton has been playing in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) for Traktor Chelyabinsk since November 2022. Last season, he played 32 matches, in which he scored three goals and 15 assists.
Earlier, the French striker of the Lokomotiv football team Wilson Isidore said that he began to learn Russian through reading and talking, but it was still difficult for him. He also stated that his teammates Nair Tiknizyan and Konstantin Maradishvili taught him obscene words.
