From a career at TVN to TVP. Tomasz Lis remembers Adamczyk from the beginning of his career

Few people know that Michał Adamczyk’s media career began in the editorial office of Polonia 1 television. Later, he worked for TVN, first as the Gdańsk correspondent of “Fakty”, and then as a presenter in the local edition of “Fakty Północ”. At that time, his superior was Tomasz Lis, who said in an interview with the portal that he had appreciated him for his reliability in this profession for a long time. – He was a reliable reporter in “Fakty”. Then a reliable correspondent for TVP in Brussels – he said. Everything changed when PiS came to power, and as a result, there was a “good change” on public television. Then Adamczyk obeyed the new rules, completely changed his views and values, which caused his reputation to suffer. – The years of Kurski’s rule at TVP have already been a disaster. He sacrificed his name, face and reputation for his career and money. In my opinion, he made a mistake in his life, but he probably thinks otherwise, said Tomasz Lis, commenting that Adamczyk had become one of the “hostages of politics”.

Adamczyk supported the opposition and Tusk. Thanks to the “good change”, his career gained momentum

It turns out that Adamczyk’s change surprised many, because before he started supporting the ruling party, he supported the opposition and the government of Donald Tusk. He mentions this, among others: Piotr Sławiński, former editorial manager who employed him. – He loved the Civic Platform and was proud of Donald Tusk’s leadership – he recalled. When PiS came to power and took over, introducing numerous changes, including dismissing journalists whose position seemed unshakable, Adamczyk began to adapt to the new rules. This turned out to be important for his career, which gained a dizzying pace relatively quickly, making him one of the station’s most popular journalists. It was then that he began to attack politicians he had previously supported and the media he worked for. – After the “good change” came, he showed his other face. He didn’t blink an eye when Kurski kicked out or forced many of his colleagues with whom he shared desks to leave TVP. He became a leading PiS propagandist. He gave a name and a face to the team that turned public television into a ministry of propaganda carrying out messages from the headquarters – said Tomasz Sygut, former head of TVP Info and TAI.

Although his attitude surprised many, there were also those who expected this turn of events. One of the people who did not believe in the journalist’s honesty is publicist Jan Piński. – Adamczyk offered his services to every authority. In 2015, Kurski asked me for my opinion about Adamczyk. I said that he would serve him faithfully until his next master was found, he said, adding that in his opinion, the journalist would adapt to anything so as not to lose his position and the benefits resulting from it. – His character is such that he would easily find his place on television after the fall of PiS, but no one will suggest it to him – he said.
