Kostomarov will star in the documentary series “Cyborg” about the life of people with prosthetics

Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov will take part in the filming of the documentary series “Cyborg”. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the press service of the online cinema PREMIER.

The project will consist of three episodes, each of which will talk about new technologies in prosthetics and the lives of people with robotic limbs. The characters will share stories about how they went through the process of physical and psychological adaptation to a new body, and will also act as mentors for those who have recently encountered such an experience.

Kostomarov’s story will become a separate storyline. In it, the athlete will talk about rehabilitation, overcoming difficulties and life with prostheses.

On August 22, Kostomarov took to the ice for the first time after receiving prosthetics. He took part in a number with his wife Oksana Domnina during Ilya Averbukh’s gala show “Letters of Love” in Sochi.

Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to prolonged connection to a blood oxygenation machine and a ventilator, his tissue began to die. Doctors amputated both feet of the skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire hand of his right hand and several fingers of his left.
