The players’ unions, in the statement they made public on Friday, September 1, stressed that the strike call “is the result of the stagnation in the negotiations of the Collective Agreement; the aim is to advance in said negotiations, achieve fair and dignified treatment for female footballers, to address and reduce the existing wage gap” among other issues.
The AFE union also stressed that it defends “the legitimate present labor rights of soccer players, and, above all, future ones, through the legitimate right to strike, showing its commitment to benefit the new generations.”
