CSKA published a photo of Akinfeev’s reaction to the greeting of Mario Fernandez
CSKA Moscow Communications Director Kirill Breido posted on his Telegram channel a photo of the reaction of team goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev to the greeting of Zenit defender Mario Fernandez.
In the picture, the players are standing in the under-tribune room before the match of the seventh round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). At this moment, Fernandez stretches out his hand to Akinfeev. “Great photo. History, look, body language,” Breido wrote in a comment.
On September 3, CSKA played a draw in their arena with Zenit. The meeting ended with the score 1:1.
Fernandez played for CSKA Moscow from 2012 to 2022, after which he took a break from his career. From January 2023, the defender played on loan for the Brazilian Internacional, but on April 21 he left the club ahead of schedule for personal reasons. After that, CSKA negotiated the return of the defender, but he moved to Zenit. The agreement is designed for one year with the possibility of extension for a season.
