On July 1, Fedotov signed an agreement with CSKA. Previously, he played for the army team in the 2021/2022 season. The NHL expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, as it violates the goaltender’s contract with Philadelphia, concluded in May 2022. At the same time, the Russian tried to fly to the United States, but he was detained in St. Petersburg on suspicion of evading military service.
