The games will be held on 7 and 11 September in Suez. “Due to the fact that many young players born in 2001-2002 have been called up to the Russian national team lately, this will be a good opportunity for them to get more playing practice at a high international level,” the RFU said.
On August 31, the head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin announced that three friendly matches would be held in September. According to him, in addition to Egypt, the team’s opponent will be the national team of Qatar. The specialist added that players born not earlier than 2001 will be involved in the matches with Egypt. There will be no age restrictions in the game with Qatar.
The composition of the Russian national team for the September training camp, which included 49 players, was published on August 30. It was specified that the team would train from September 4 to 12 in Novogorsk.
