The IOC did not approve the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in the Asian Games
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) refused to allow Russian athletes to participate in the Asian Games. Indian Express reports.
The tournament starts on September 23rd. The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has announced that it will accept 500 athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete so that they can qualify for the Olympics. However, the IOC had to approve this decision.

On March 28, the IOC recommended that Belarusians and Russians who did not support the special operation in Ukraine be admitted to the competitions in a neutral status. At the same time, athletes associated with the armed forces or security agencies of their countries are recommended to be suspended from participating in starts. After that, a number of federations allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to return to the competition.
