Gilson De Souza, now a retired Brazilian footballer who is a citizen of Ecuador, spent an unforgettable time in the national team where he was one of the figures in every club he played for.

The now 56-year-old football coach played for Filanbanco, Valdez, Barcelona SC and Liga de Quito, and was even in the national team.

The Brazilian, who lives in Qatar, is remembered mostly for the Canarian team, where his fans keep him in fond memory.

De Souza follows Ecuadorian football and according to his criteria, the Canarian team should go through “renovation” and have reconnaissance (talent scouts) to bolster their ranks.

“I think that Barcelona SC is going through a bad time, it has to go through reconstruction and that is clear. You need to create a theme reconnaissance so I could hire,” he said.

“He has to change some players and that would be good for him,” concluded De Souza in a radio interview. Huancavilca. (D)
