Real Sociedad denied information about the ban on Zakharyan from playing for the Russian national team
Real Sociedad spoke about the participation of Arsen Zakharyan in the matches of the Russian national team. The words of the head of the press service of the Spanish club Luis Arconada reports Sport24.
Earlier, the Armenian Telegram channel MS_Football+ reported that one of the key conditions for signing a contract with Zakharyan was a ban on playing for the national team. It was also alleged that an application was sent to the International Football Federation (FIFA) to change the nationality of the midfielder and transfer to the Armenian national team.
“This news is fake,” Arkonada denied the information.
Zakharyan moved to Real Sociedad on 19 August. The contract with the 20-year-old midfielder is for five years until the end of the 2028/2029 season. His debut match took place on August 25 against Las Palmas in La Liga. Prior to that, for three years, the athlete played for Dynamo.
