Golovin and Sobolev joined the Russian national football team for the September training camp
The Russian Football Union (RFU) has announced an updated extended squad of the Russian national football team for the September training camp. The list is available on the website.
The coaching staff called 49 players to the training camp, which will be held in Novogorsk from September 4 to 12. Among them was the Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin. Also included were Spartak forward Alexander Sobolev and CSKA forward Fedor Chalov, Krasnodar goalkeeper Matvey Safonov and Zenit defender Vyacheslav Karavaev.
In September, the Russian team is due to play a friendly match against Qatar. The meeting will take place in Doha on 12 September. Other opponents will be announced later.
The Russian national team has not played in international tournaments since February 2022 due to the sanctions of the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations.
