Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk said that he did not feel the power of Dubois
Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk appreciated Briton Daniel Dubois, whom he defeated in a title fight. His words are quoted by Sports.ru.
“Did I feel the power of Dubois? No, just my balls,” Usyk said. So the 36-year-old Ukrainian commented on the episode in the fifth round, when Dubois struck him in the abdomen, which the referee considered an illegal low blow. After that, Usyk could not get up from the floor and was forced to take a five-minute timeout.
On the night of August 27, Usyk defeated Dubois. In the ninth round, the Ukrainian knocked down the opponent, after which he could not get up. The referee recorded Usyk’s victory by technical knockout.
Usyk defended the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) heavyweight championship belts. The Ukrainian athlete won the 21st victory, he never lost. 25-year-old Dubois lost for the second time in his career, in addition to his 19 wins.
