Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov recorded a video message to the fans along with his wife Oksana Domnina. The video was published in the athlete’s Telegram channel.
“Thank you very much! We all read, see, feel, so many thanks for your kind words and wishes,” said Kostomarov and Domnina. They also wished good health to all their subscribers.
On August 22, the athlete went on the ice for the first time after amputation. He took part in a number with Domnina during the gala show of Ilya Averbukh “Letters of Love” in Sochi at the Iceberg Ice Palace on August 22.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to the prolonged connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die off. Doctors amputated both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire right hand and several fingers of the left.
