Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov first appeared on the ice after prosthetics. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
The exit of the 46-year-old athlete on the ice occurred during the gala show of Ilya Averbukh “Letters of Love” in Sochi at the Iceberg Ice Palace. He took part in the room of his wife Oksana Domnina and appeared to the audience.
On August 5, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov spoke about the state of the skater. He said that hand prostheses would be made for 46-year-old Kostomarov.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to the prolonged connection to a blood oxygenator and a ventilator, tissue began to die off. Doctors amputated both feet of the figure skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire right hand and several fingers of the left.
