ANSA: Court rejects Juventus appeal over 2006 title deprivation
The Italian Council of State has rejected Juventus’ appeal against the country’s 2006 title deprivation filed with the country’s Football Federation (FIGC), the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) and Inter Milan. ANSA reports.
The decision of the court is final. As a result, Juventus will not be able to appeal the case.
In 2006, Juventus was accused of participating in match-fixing, after which the club was sent to Serie B. The team was stripped of the country’s title in favor of Inter, but Turintsy repeatedly tried to appeal this decision.
In November 2022, club president Andrea Agnelli and most of the Juventus management resigned. At the same time, they were accused of overestimating the transfer cost of players, understating the cost of employees and hiding the true size of the salaries of football players.
