A study in older adults found that exercise nearly halved the time it takes to fall asleep and increased sleep duration by 41 minutes. Exercise has been found to reduce the time it takes to fall asleep by 55 percent and anxiety by 15 percent.
At the same time, the doctor said that exercising in the evening can cause problems with sleep, as exercise stimulates alertness and the production of hormones such as epinephrine and adrenaline.
In May, Forbes fitness experts gave advice on how to lose weight safely. Experts said it was important to create a daily routine that includes sports, seven to eight hours of sleep and time to eat without shifting attention.
